Johnson & Sekin was thrilled to interview interim Sheriff Marian Brown as she became Dallas County’s first black Sheriff, as well as the county’s first black female Sheriff. In addition, J&S recognized the heroism of Deputy Katrina Caldwell, who helped subdue a criminal who opened fire on the Dallas Police Department back in 2015.
Sheriff Brown, who grew up in Dallas, Texas, has served in law enforcement for the past 22 years. Prior to her post as interim Sheriff, she spent several years as Assistant Deputy Chief under her predecessor Lupe Valdez, as well as serving as a Sergeant for the Duncanville, Texas Police Department.
